This
LIFE is a PROJECT and we are the INTERNS who exist in different time zones,
geographic areas whilst living on a rock. During the lifetime of this project,
we are tasked with different problems arriving at a different timeline.
Granted, every obstacle we face initially, challenges us on different levels,
and so we constantly yearn for improvement and update in our skill set. One
thing that many of us do is look for A ROLE MODEL.
A Role Model is someone who we
look up to; they have gone through the problems that we currently face. They
are the problem solvers with high precision and creative mindset. They thrive
on changes and overcome difficult situations with ease. They are an example to
us to live this project successfully because they have done so and not quit.
The need for a Role Model
arises out of choice and not compulsion. A choice that do we need a helping
hand; A choice about guiding us to the path of successful implementation to
overcome a difficult situation.
It's like a user manual and if
we follow their steps, we get through the problem solving while achieving the
result easily.
While, most look out for role
models in their professional life, some look out for role models for their
personal life, reasons can be many. Some of them being:
1)
Handling
their relations with immediate family member.
2)
Developing
a certain trait in their personality best suited to them.
3)
Managing
a professional as well as personal life with just the right balance (one of the
biggest problems of the modern world.).
4)
Overcoming
family traditions and breaking barriers.
5)
For
self improvement in their field,
Role Models change from time to
time also, it's about finding a new thought pattern and breaking the monotony
of our mundane existence. It’s something that we never would have done or
followed before because at time particular time in our project we did not
believe in that particular idea. It was only after a certain time gap and
facing different situations that we get to understand the real reason about a
certain thought process which was offered to us initially, which we outright
rejected.
We stumble, we face hardships
but so do others …. in their own speed. A good idea would be to start looking
at people who have been there and done that gracefully. They may be in your
family circle, friend circle or professional network, heck even someone you
read about in news or media. It's about finding that connect with their process
and following it with your creativity to solve a problem to the "T".
So, go
FIND!!
Find
your mentor whose opinion matters to you.
Find
your guide whom you would listen to.
Find your
Reference point for you to take notes of their action that led them to success
at that point in time.
Find
that answer that is most widely accepted solution to the problem.
Everyone
needs help at some point in their lives; it would a better idea to find someone
whose actions you can rely onto. Trust me; it would save a lot of time dwelling
over the solution and not finding the perfect answer to a ridiculous question.
Update
yourself constantly; your skill set should always increase in quality with time
so that later in life, someone could look up to you for mentorship and
guidance.
